Gabriel

Holbox, Mexico

The ocean is green today. It’s green like jade and has small waves from the windy day and dozens of birds fly like they’re dancing. I’m sure they’re dancing with the wind. And I feel I want to cry because in moments like this life is so divine.

Gabriel says he has a gift for me, and he doesn’t even know it’s my birthday. And he wants me to know that yesterday was his day off and that’s why I didn’t see him serving at breakfast. He says that on his day off he bought a gift for me and that he will bring it to me tomorrow.

I walked away and felt my eyes sore and my throat tight and my heart full. Sometimes the kindness of strangers feels like God reaching down from above, lifting my chin, rubbing my back, whispering that he sees me.

Sometimes the kindness of strangers feels like God reaching in, lifting my chin, rubbing my back, whispering that he sees me. If God is love, then could all loving acts in fact be from his heart?

If God is love, then could all loving acts in fact be from his heart? The kindness of strangers and by my creator feeling seen.
